As a self-proclaimed croissant connoisseur on a quest to find Calgary’s finest, I was beyond excited to visit Otie. Otie is a newly opened bakery and café in Calgary, located at 1225 Macleod Trail SE within the BLVD Beltline building.
What can you eat at Otie?

Known for its artisanal baked goods and expertly brewed coffee drinks, Otie offers an array of fresh pastries and croissants, such as savoury tomato mozzarella croissants, cacio e pepe croissant, sweet twice-baked almond croissants, lemon blueberry croissants, chocolate croissants, nutella croissants, and a selection of tarts, and focaccia sandwiches.
Their collection of French desserts is also noteworthy and looks delicious. The café also serves distinctive beverages like kombucha and house-made iced teas, alongside coffee sourced from Chronicle Coffee Roasters.
I came back for the chicken focaccia sandwhich twice (get it warmed up!), and I loved their lattes and croissants. Otie is known for their famous croissants, so be there early! They usually sell out by 10.30am.
Who owns Otie?
Owned by Chef Daniel Ramon, who also runs the nearby restaurant Letty, Otie stands out for its attention to quality and detail, particularly in its laminated dough pastries.
What is Otie like?
The café provides a cozy and modern atmosphere, perfect for both quick visits and those looking to work or unwind. It’s a perfect place to work at or hang out with your friends.
It’s child-friendly, and there is a place to put your stroller. The service has been consisently great, and I look forward to going back there whenever I am in that area.
This cafe operates daily from 7 am to 4 pm. If you want to try their croissants, try to be there before 10am, as they sell out quite quickly.
