As a sandwich enthusiast always on the lookout for Calgary’s best bites, I was thrilled to check out Bonjour Sandwich Shop.
This newly opened gem is located in Marda Loop at 1909 34th Avenue SW, offering a fresh and cozy spot to grab a satisfying meal.
What can you eat at Bonjour Sandwich Shop?
At Bonjour, sandwiches are the star of the show, with a menu inspired by both French and Italian flavours. I am not surprised as the owner is actually from Paris, France.
From buttery French baguettes filled with Jambon de Paris (Paris ham) and cultured butter to mouthwatering Italian schiacciata (a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside Tuscan flatbread) with mortadella (pork) and stracciatella (pulled mozzarella curds mixed with heavy cream), there’s something for everyone.
You can also opt for their build-your-own sandwich option, where you get to mix and match proteins, cheeses, and veggies to customize the perfect sandwich.

I couldn’t resist the Turkey Sandwich with Avocado and it quickly became my go-to order. Paired with one of their refreshing sodas (I loved the orange soda), it made for a delightful lunch.
Bonjour’s sandwiches are as delicious as they are unique, so if you’re a sandwich lover like me, you need to try this place!
What is Bonjour Sandwich Shop like?
Bonjour Sandwich Shop offers a welcoming and laid-back vibe, perfect for grabbing a quick bite or spending a relaxing afternoon with friends. The interior is fun and inviting.
There are not that many places to sit inside the shop, but you can sit on the terrace in the center of that little shopping plaza.
This quality sandwhich takes time, so be patient!
Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or just picking up a quality sandwich and soda to go, Bonjour is a great choice. Please be prepared to WAIT for at least 15 minutes and sometimes more for your sandwich as everything is made and CUT FRESH (all those delicious meats and cheeses). The bread is also made from scratch daily!
This place is all about QUALITY – not speed. If you care about speed, just go to Subway. Bonjour Sandwhich Shop takes time but it’s SO WORTH IT. They’ve also become a social media sensation recently, so they are overwhelmed with visitors, so give them some grace and patience.
The shop is open from 11 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday through Sunday, making it an ideal stop for lunch or an afternoon snack. They do get VERY busy on weekends, so be prepared to wait for some time.
Parking
Located in the heart of Marda Loop, parking options are available on nearby streets, making it easy to stop by. Due to the construction right now, the parking is slightly challenging, but that shouldn’t stop you.
You can park 1 minute away in the small shopping plaza nearby (near the ACE Liquor store). The central location makes it convenient for locals and visitors alike to grab a quick sandwich while exploring the neighborhood. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to try one of Calgary’s newest sandwich spots.
