Here are the events that will be happening this week in Calgary. Check out the fun and interesting events for July 2025. With the world-famous Calgary Stampede taking over the city, many events are themed around this iconic festival. Every month we spend hours searching for the best Calgary local and fun events for the whole family so that you don’t have to!
NOTE: More events will be added here for each day of July at the end of June 2025.
City-Wide & Multi-Day Festivals:
- July 1, 2025 – Canada Day Celebrations – at Various locations like The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland and Studio Bell – Enjoy free, family-friendly festivities including live music, an Indigenous Powwow, artisan markets, and fireworks to celebrate Canada’s birthday. (Family Friendly)
- July 4-13, 2025 – Calgary Stampede – at Stampede Park – Experience “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” with daily rodeos, a midway with rides and games, unique food, and agricultural showcases. Park admission is required, with separate tickets for the rodeo, evening show, and concerts. (Family Friendly)
- July 18-20, 2025 – Fiestaval Latino Festival – at Olympic Plaza – Immerse yourself in Latin culture at this free festival featuring hundreds of performers, authentic food vendors, and an artisan market. It’s a vibrant and lively event for all ages. (Family Friendly)
- July 18 – August 17, 2025 – YYC Ice Cream Fest – at Various Participating Cafés – Taste your way through unique ice cream creations from local shops across the city. A portion of the proceeds from each sale supports Calgary Meals on Wheels. (Family Friendly)
- July 24-27, 2025 – Calgary Folk Music Festival – at Prince’s Island Park – Relax by the river and enjoy a diverse lineup of over 70 local and international artists across seven stages. The festival is known for its laid-back atmosphere and dedicated family zone. (Family Friendly)
- July 30 – August 17, 2025 – Broadway Across Canada: Disney’s The Lion King – at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium – The world-renowned, Tony Award-winning musical comes to Calgary, bringing the African savanna to life with spectacular puppetry and music. Ticket prices vary by show date and seat selection. (Family Friendly)
Stampede-Specific Events (On and Off the Park):
- July 3, 2025 – Stampede Bowl: Stampeders vs. Blue Bombers – at McMahon Stadium – Kick off the Stampede festivities with the first-ever Stampede Bowl CFL game. The event features a high-energy halftime show by Bret Michaels.
- July 4, 2025 – Calgary Stampede Parade – at Downtown Calgary – Find a spot along the downtown route to watch this iconic parade for free, featuring floats, marching bands, horses, and cultural entries. The parade officially kicks off the 10-day festival. (Family Friendly)
- July 3-13, 2025 – Cowboys Music Festival – at the Cowboys Tent, Stampede Park – This 18+ event is a legendary party spot during Stampede, hosting major international artists in a high-energy concert series. Artists like Zach Top, Macklemore, Timbaland, and Kygo are slated to perform.
- July 5, 2025 – Shania Twain Concert – at Scotiabank Saddledome – Global superstar and Canadian icon Shania Twain headlines the Saddledome for a can’t-miss concert experience during the Stampede. Tickets are sold separately from park admission.
- July 6, 2025 – Stampede Family Day – at Stampede Park – Enjoy free admission to the Stampede grounds from 8 AM to 11 AM to experience the fun of the fair. Many free pancake breakfasts also take place across the city on this day. (Family Friendly)
Other Unique Events:
- Until July 6, 2025 – Europa Super Circus – at the Big Top Tent, Deerfoot City – Experience thrilling acrobatics, daring aerial acts, and jaw-dropping stunts in a spectacular family-friendly show. This is a modern twist on the classic circus. (Family Friendly)
- July 11-13, 2025 – Calaway Comic Fest for Kids – at Calaway Park – Dress up in your favourite family-friendly costume and enjoy a superhero-themed festival included with your regular park admission. The event features character meet-and-greets and special activities. (Family Friendly)
- July 12-13, 2025 – Family Fishing Weekend – at Various Alberta Waterbodies – No fishing license is required for this weekend, making it a perfect opportunity to take the family fishing. Note that this does not apply within national parks and fishing regulations still apply. (Family Friendly)
- July 18-19, 2025 – Calgary Japanese Festival “Omatsuri” – at Max Bell Centre – Celebrate traditional and modern Japanese culture with martial arts demonstrations, food vendors, dancing, and more. “Omatsuri” is the Japanese word for a traditional festival. (Family Friendly)
- July 26, 2025 – Inglewood Sunfest – at 9th Avenue SE in Inglewood – Explore one of Calgary’s best street festivals in the historic Inglewood neighbourhood. The event is free and features live music, food trucks, local vendors, and family activities. (Family Friendly)
- July 26-27, 2025 – Pet-A-Palooza – at Eau Claire Plaza – Bring your furry friends to this massive, free outdoor pet festival. The event features vendors with pet-related products, fun activities, and treat stations for your four-legged family members. (Family Friendly)
