Nestled in the heart of Bearspaw (former Bear’s Den location) lies a culinary gem that has captured the hearts and taste buds of locals and visitors alike – Flores & Pine. With its reputation for elevated casual dining, I knew I had to experience its renowned Sunday Brunch Buffet firsthand. Spoiler alert: it did not disappoint.
Behind the name

Named in honour of Flores LaDue, the esteemed First Lady of the Calgary Stampede, known for her prowess as a roper and performer, Flores & Pine offers an upscale dining and cocktail experience ideal for post-work drinks, delightful dinners, or special occasions.
What can you eat at Flores & Pine?
From the moment I stepped into Flores & Pine, I was enveloped in an ambiance of warmth and hospitality. The aroma of freshly prepared brunch classics greeted me, setting the stage for what promised to be a memorable culinary journey.
The buffet spread was nothing short of impressive. From an elegant charcuterie spread to fresh seafood (that shrimp and salmon gravlax!!) to carved meat, oysters, pasta, butter chicken, meatloaf, ramen station, taco station with 3 types of meat filling, and savoury omelettes. Whether you’re a die-hard brunch enthusiast or a picky eater with dietary restrictions, there was something for everyone.
Buffet Tips
What truly set Flores & Pine apart, however, was their commitment to quality and creativity. I recommend arriving at the beginning of their buffet (at 10.30 am), as some delicious things were gone within an hour of us being there (we were there around 12pm). I also liked that different types of eggs benedict (and also, yummy dumplings too!) were delivered to our table by our server, in addition to the main buffet.
Dessert
And let’s talk about dessert – because no brunch experience is complete without indulging in something sweet. The dessert table was a sight to behold, featuring an array of decadent cakes, delicate pastries, and other irresistible treats. It was the perfect ending to an already exquisite meal.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to try their famous Honey Cake as it was already gone by the time I got there! (I got the picture of it though).
Pricing
In terms of value, Flores & Pine offers their Sunday Brunch Buffet at $65 per person, with special rates for children aged 12 and under ($30), and complimentary (aka free) dining for those aged 5 and under. Considering the quality and variety of dishes offered, it’s a steal.
Child-friendly
This place is child-friendly. I saw a few people with babies and toddlers.
My verdict
Overall, my experience at Flores & Pine’s Sunday Brunch Buffet was nothing short of exceptional. From the impeccable service to the delectable cuisine, it’s clear why this establishment has become a favourite among brunch enthusiasts. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply looking to indulge in a culinary adventure, Flores & Pine is a must-visit destination.
So, if you find yourself in Calgary on a Sunday morning, do yourself a favour and make a reservation at Flores & Pine. Your taste buds will thank you.
